Acting President
Acting President (Volunteer / Virtual / Open to QLD Residents)
ABOUT THIS ROLE
Position Purpose
The President will provide strategic leadership to FFARQ as it continues to promote animal welfare. As the “face and voice” of FFARQ, the President will also be responsible for building and strengthening partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholder groups to promote animal welfare. The President will ensure that FFARQ operates efficiently and effectively by applying sound business principles while exploring opportunities for growth and innovative ways to engage communities and decision-makers.

The President will demonstrate a commitment to the values of FFARQ and lead a dedicated team, with the clear aim of increasing the impact of the organisation has on animal welfare.
NOTE: This role is for Acting President until voted in as President at the Annual General Meeting.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
-
Work closely with the Committee Members to develop and implement FFARQ’s strategic plans.

Increase the visibility, awareness and relevancy of the FFARQ brand to become one a highly respected animal rescue organisations in Southeast Queensland.
Stakeholder Engagement

Build and strengthen partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholder groups, including but not limited to donors, business partners, and state / local governments, to achieve FFARQ’s strategic goals.

Engage with our committed volunteer network to ensure everyone understand our vision and goals.
Finance Management

Manage FFARQ’s budget and monitor and report on income and expenditure with support of the FFARQ Treasurer.
Organisational Management and People Leadership

Provide stewardship for all business functions, such as Finance, HR and, IT.

Implement a performance management framework to ensure the delivery of quality services and outcomes in alignment with FFARQ’s strategic plans. Ensure that all KPI's are shared amongst all teams and understanding of their purpose.

Lead and inspire, promoting a culture that attracts, rewards and retains high-calibre volunteers.
Governance
-
Produce and present organisational reports to the Committee.
Requirements

Attend quarterly general meetings, any adhoc special meetings and the Annual General Meeting.

Develop the Quarterly Presidents report and recommend any necessary actions.

Approve the overall Strategic Plan.

Approve organisational policies.

Approve major expenditure with consultation of the Treasurer.

• Prior experience working for not-for-profits or social enterprises will be highly regarded.
Other Requirements
• This role is virtual or home-based.
• You will require (at your own expense) a reliable computer, mobile phone, internet and anti- virus; as well as a Facebook account (or the ability to create an account).
• Applicants must be eligible to live and work in Australia.
• Minimum commitment of 5 hours per week
• All volunteers within FFARQ must have integrity, respect for others and their time; and a passion to contribute to their role and the overarching goals of the team
• Honesty and Reliability - You will be working on your own as a virtual volunteer with minimal supervision, so your integrity is important.
• Respect for others and their time - Everyone is going above and beyond their usual responsibilities to volunteer so be respectful.
• Love for animals and a need to contribute - Above anything else, it is passion that will help you be successful and commit to this role
Time Required
A minimum commitment of at least 12-months is required. All applicants must be able to commit a minimum of 5 hours per week to the role. These hours are flexible, so long as the organisational needs are met.
